RESIDENCY PROGRAM

While only those individuals selected for an in-person interview will be contacted, we extend our appreciation to all applicants for their interest.

In-person interviews will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2013, (storm date will be Sunday, November 24, 2013) at the College of Pharmacy, Dalhousie University, Halifax NS.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT: OCTOBER 15, 2013

All electronic documentation and printed pharmacy transcripts for your application including all three references must be received by October 15, 2013.

A hospital pharmacy residency is a 12-month, postgraduate learning experience. Through structured rotations in various areas of pharmacy practice, the program aims to prepare pharmacists for exemplary pharmacy practice. Graduate residents are an important source of highly qualified pharmacists with a high level of patient care and practice abilities.

The purpose of a general hospital pharmacy residency program is:

  • to provide an experiential learning environment using practitioner role models so the necessary skills, knowledge and values required to be a hospital pharmacist can be acquired and applied by the resident in the provision of exemplary patient care.
  • to develop competent and progressive pharmacy practitioners and encourage future leaders for the profession.
