Recommended Preceptor Education Programs & Adjunct Professor Appointments Process for Dalhousie University, College of Pharmacy Preceptors

Pharmacist preceptors affiliated with the Dalhousie University, College of Pharmacy Practice Experience Programs (PEP) are welcome to apply for Adjunct Professor status upon completion of a recognized Online or Live Preceptor Education Program (see list below); and completion of required application forms (see links and details below).

The Adjunct Professor title is a three year appointment that recognizes the important contributions pharmacist preceptors make towards the practice based education of Dalhousie University, College of Pharmacy students. The title is contingent on the pharmacist’s continued participation as a preceptor with the Practice Experience Programs (PEP). In order to be eligible for renewal, you must have been an active preceptor or officially offered to be a preceptor in at least two of the last three years of your appointment. Please make sure that when you participate as a preceptor for a Dalhousie Pharmacy student on a PEP rotation that you have completed a preceptor application form. This is the only official way that preceptor participation is tracked.

Please take note of the scheduled application deadlines below, and please be aware that processing of applications can take four to six weeks or more. You will be notified by mail of your appointment and provided with instructions on how to access the university library holdings.
