Research Interests

development of analytical methods for drugs, metabolites and biomarkers
pharmacokinetic, metabolism and biomarker evaluation of drugs and foreign chemicals
personalized medicine

His recent research has involved:

pharmacokinetic and biomarker assessment of anti-ischemia drugs
pharmacologic and exercise modulation of adenosine and ATP in vivo and in vitro
analytical method development and pharmacokinetics of cardiovascular drugs and anti-cancer agents
targeting of nucleoside anti-cancer agents

Pollen, his wife Kim Lam, also a pharmacist, and their two daughters, live in Bedford, a suburb of Halifax. For relaxation Pollen enjoys computers, jogging, weight training, swimming, and soccer.
